I’m a Yellow Vest Mountain Host for the Winter.

I get to be on our gorgeous Apache ski mountain every Wednesday from 10 am to 4 pm. It’s an amazing workout, and it’s a blast talking to all our tourists that travel from all over to ski and visit our quaint village of Ruidoso. I’m here to help you stay on top of your skis and to keep you safe.

Anyone needing a lift is encouraged to meet me at the PaintedArtist at 9am.

Message me on facebook if you need a ride! www.facebook.com/Jana.lynch

Did you know you can ride the gondola without skiing your way back down? You can see the White Sands NM from up there, too. Also note: There are no beginners trails from the very top. You have to navigate The Face, which is about 3 football lengths of intermediate skiing, before you can get back on a beginner’s green run. So you’ll need to ski The Face, then hit the Seirra Blanche green beginner trail all the way down.

Interesting fact: When snow rolls down a mountain it does not make balls like you see in animation, instead it makes what looks like rolls of ribbon. Locals here call these Snow Snails, and it is a joy when you get to see them in person.
