Hey guys … As you may or may not know, I’ve moved to Ruidoso NM. I left Jana’s RedRoom Las Vegas in grand hands with Cindy Dean and her business partner Jennifer Dougherty Gabaldon. It has a new name (Mix It Up Gallery) … but it is the same great business model and location as Jana’s RedRoom. It’s so cool because now I get to be a resident artist there … and so can you!

It’s easy, if you are a fine artist, simply email Cindy today, about getting your art seen!

Also, Mix It Up Gallery is seeking talented artists who are interested in volunteering at the gallery in exchange for FREE wall space plus YOU GET to earn a commission on art sold during your shift.

Just contact Cindy today for more info at [email protected] – and tell her Jana sent you!

Mountain God

Jana is attempting to paint a mountain god in this piece of work in progress. It is the landscape that is seen daily by visitors from all over the world when they visit the Inn of The Mountain Gods. Talking to the Inn’s employees, Jana learned, of the god that is visible on the face of the Sierra Blancha mountain range. Jana will attempt to depict him in this painting. @David Marshall and @Blake Bright will be building the frame which Jana believes will make this painting spectacular! Hope you like looking from Jana’s point of view of her incredible piece!! (Her toes are at the bottom)

Jana Caught in the zone!

Walking down the street, I noticed something bright and colorful. Turning to see what it may be, you’ll spot Jana painting on her small patio. A beautiful and bright image inspired by the amazing culture of what was Woodstock. Her passion and colorful personality shines thru in this image, as an artist should. She speaks of the flower child movement with interest and explains to me with enthusiam of her own about how this persona is passing by and changing without us even realizing.

The Girl of Snow and Shadow

Through frosted trees and silent snow,

In a glade nestled far below,

The silent coating of winters tears,

A stillness of many years,

There sat a girl of snow and shadow,

With eyes of smoke and mystery,

Queen of all destiny,

Like a siren she sings,

Of love and dreams,

Hidden deep beneath the icy snow,

In a land lost to time, long ago…

Jana helps at local high school fine arts department

Jana is having a blast at helping the fanominal art teacher, Ms. Kinney at ruidoso high school. Today, she helped us perfected or improve our clay slab houses. In one of the pictures above, you can see her assissting me in building a Gravity Falls mystery shack clay house model. She was afficent and gave out advice and pointer to me and my fellow students. Jana made sure to try to converse with the students too, as a teacher should. She talked about our passions and her experiences with us. She is helping Ms. Kinney and bonding with her, and such wonderful people they are, I personally believe that they will become good friends. They both help young teens with our dreams and our passions, and because they do so with passions of their own, they shall continue to make us smile and inspire us.
