Feb 1 – Preview Thursday is my “far the well” party as my new life begins this month in Ruidoso NM.
If you’ve not heard yet, Kevin Stepp, my husband, got a HUGE job at the only grocery store as a store director for Albertson’s in Ruidoso. Ruidoso NM is the most beautiful little town I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
At first I was just shocked, “How is it that what I’ve built over the last 7 years” (Jana’s RedRoom) will be lost.
But by the grace of God and some really good friends we will continue. I am so grateful to announce RedRoom Collab owner Cindy Dean, formally a Jana’s RedRoom Gallery Gal, will continue my vision. Same great business model, but on steroids, as she moves us to the next great amazing level here in Las Vegas.
“It’s all for the love of Jana and local artists” Cindy, and business partner Jennifer agrees.
How cool is that? What an honor! Oh and I will be around often, as I am now an Angel (Resident Artist) of RedRoom Collab.
But anyway, when I saw Ruidoso last week I knew why this move must happen …. Jana’s RedRoom Las Vegas was my training ground. I can’t wait to show you how high we will go as 245 Las Vegas artists forge forward in to the lovely resort town of Ruidoso.

As Cindy remodels the RedRoom here in Las Vegas, my mission over the next 3 months will be to find the perfect location for RedRoom Ruidoso. There is one long city block where every tourist walks and shops while on vacation, they are here to enjoy the pony’s of Ruidoso Downs, the ski slopes of Ski Apache, hicking, camping or the fishing and gambling over at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. Her beauty, Ruidoso, is breathe taking!
All of this was my stomping ground as a teenage. Born in Albuquerque and raised in Lubbock Texas, I often skied there … oh and a little funny side note, my first real date was with a nice young man (Chuck Burgess) who lived in Ruidosa. I meet him on a skiing trip. I was 15. (40 years ago) He invited me back to his high school prom … my mother, bless her heart, drove me back up there so I could go. Lol.
