FOOD Palette

Go slay the day, people.

Nutrition, Hydration, Movement and most importantly, Soul Peace…

You get these things, right ?!? And that’s when the magic of the human experience begins.

You are on an invisible battlefield, whether you know it or not. I look around and fear the majority of us have layered down and forgotten how powerful these elements are.

Get up. Even though you’re been knocked down, get up. Then pull someone else up once you have your power back and then GO SLAY THE DAY!

Today I get to show my egg tempera to my teacher, William Clay. It’s what we will call from this day forward my “FOOD Palette.” The term was inspired by Carol Goodden (Caroline McCoy) owner of FOOD 1970 New York, with the help of my new talented friend Todd Jordan, who is creating pigments out of his garden and kitchen so I can experiment with their magic. In his own words, hear my teacher, William Clay describe his experience as a student of world-renowned artist Peter Hurd.

I recommend all my artist friends research the term FOOD NY 1970. The story is well documented and was the inspirational place to hang where the food was the art and most anyone could afford a hot meal, and have amazing creative interaction with the best, most talented artists at the time.

SO…

What do you get to do today and HOW can you do it in PEACE?

Mama Jana would love to hear!

On the invisible battlefield

Jana Lynch is returning to Ruidoso!

Hey, Ruidoso friends, let’s make butterflies again to honor our loved ones and benefit the Lincoln County Food Bank!

Me at The Peace Garden Tree located at Wingfield Park

As the creator of the “Hello From Ruidoso” Peace Garden, I’m delighted to announce that I’m coming back to paint butterflies with you to honor once again those whom we love. In the Fall of 2021 this community collaboration art installation was relocated to Wingfield Park where it remains to be enjoyed by everyone.

Since my husband Kevin and I left the Village, many locals and visitors have continued to honor their loved ones by painting and installing butterflies, just as so many of us have done in the past. So we’re coming back for one fun-filled weekend to celebrate our loved ones while raising money and awareness of the needs that are being requested of and met by the Lincoln County Food Bank.

Let’s kick this off Thursday, August 11 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm with a Meet-and-Greet Happy Hour at Casa Blanca Restaurant and Bar, 501 Mechem Dr, Rudoso, (575) 257-2495.

Then, on Friday, August 12 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, everyone’s invited to meet me and my wonderful artist friends at a “Location To Be Announced” where you and any local artists can paint butterflies in honor or memory of your loved ones, too. Remember, pet’s are loved ones, so we can honor them as well, right?

A finally, we’ll enjoy time together on Saturday, August 13, from 9:00am – 1:00pm at the art installation located at Wingfield Park, for even more painting and the placement of your butterflies into the Peace Garden Tree.

This is a place of honor. It’s a commemoration of the passage for your loved ones as well as a way to show the love you have for them. It is such a magnificent way to remember them.

Do you want to honor a loved one by purchasing a butterfly to paint so it can live in this garden? A donation of $15 per butterfly will benefit greatly the Lincoln County Food Bank. Did you know we still have pavers available to display your family name? The cost is $100 each and Jana will paint your message right on the patio floor. And remember, we’re doing this to raise awareness to benefit the Lincoln County Food Bank, and to honor our loved ones on this first of its kind, always changing, community Art Installation.

Find matching merchandise at the retail shops on Sudderth Drive, HelloFromRuidoso.com, or at the event in August.

Contact Jana directly at JanaLynchArt@gmail.com if you have questions, or you would like to help me with this event. Or if you’d like to ask me to paint a butterfly for you before the event so it will be ready to be installed on Saturday the 13th at Wingfield. The cost is $30 for a custom design to match your loved one’s interests, and that price includes jewels and glitter!

Employee appreciation

New art I painted for Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard
Brandy, the best bartender in town! Go meet her!

It’s Thank You day for the employees at Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard who tolerated my ass over the last four weeks. It’s been so much fun painting here! I can teach anyone to do this, so whatcha’ say we start an interest list? Who would like to learn to express themselves through art?

I started teaching art a few years ago in Ruidoso, NM at Jana’s Art Cave, my working studio. It became a tourist attraction for visitors looking for entertainment aside from skiing, hunting, and fishing. It was so much fun for all ages to enjoy together. If you guys are interested, I would love to do it again in Bastrop. However, I’m going to need a location.

Originals will be available soon on my new website that’s being built. You’re welcome to watch the progress at JanasPaintedArtist.com.

I hand signed the front and added a special note to each employee who assisted me over the last 4 weeks.

My Artists…you won’t believe what we are trying to build for you!

Sarah and Cameron are two really neato kids. They will rise to the top like cream in a butter churn!

The food is so good. Here is a bread-less Italian sub. It’s not on the menu but Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard aims to please!

I can teach anyone to paint what they see with a twist of fantasy. I’m collecting an interest list NOW, Bastrop Texas. I need a location, but that’s usually not a problem. If you’re looking for exact, take a photo…’cause this class ain’t for you.

Student work from a 4 week paint class full of drink and eats over at Lost Hiker Brewery, Ruidoso NM

A somewhat normal day in the life of an artist

My view as I contemplate my day.

I so wish I could just paint on the more light-hearted “A bedroom suite for my favorite Monster High doll,” she’s vintage now, and deserves a place to live in some lucky little girl’s bedroom.

But I must carry on in a dark, but not hopeless place. As so many of you have expressed interest in the piece. Nathanael Chavers gets first right to refuse her. Lol! After that it’s open game. Lol!

So I must complete it.

This part will be hard to paint. This piece that I’m calling “People desperately fleeing the USA,” is from a vision I had over seven years ago.

I feel perhaps it’s important, but ! I’ll let the world decide. For all this is “no longer viable,” but it’s a cautionary tale, if only we can stop looking for relief in all the wrong places.

Oh, some fun news today!

I can teach any of you to paint what you see with a twist of reality. If you want your art to look exactly like your scene, take a photo; this class ain’t for you. Lol. I’m looking for location to offer a class. Any ideas?

The prints of my Nieghbor’s painting are complete, thanks to the help of Bastrop Signs & Banners. Love those guys. Check ’em out local artists!

Anyway, the sun is out and I’m going to go for a run/dance and then deliver to the hard working staff these hand signed prints today. They’re now my new friends over at Neighbor’s.

I had so much fun with you all over the last month painting your scene.

Fun news: Bastrop Opera House, thank you for inviting me to help paint sets. Omg. What a blast!

Pretty good day ahead, all and all.

LIVE LIFE LARGE!

Good example of “teach a man to fish”

Well, I’ve brought these paintings out of storage to work on, along with Marta Swanner’s Boogie Board®. My goal for completion is March 8th, 2022. Cross your fingers…

I wanna thank my cousin Jay Lynch, all things online genius Guru, for teaching this goofy artist “how to fish online” to make money, instead of simply giving me a fish. He’s now helping me develop my website, blog, and online store, not leaving me alone to flounder…Ha! get it?

If we’re correct about the direction he’s taking us, to all my artists that I love with all my heart, we be onto something big for you guys.

All the while it’s just me, hanging at the “Zen River House,” the new name we’ve given our small space near the river in Bastrop for now. I’m a little nomad at heart.

Hey, Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard, I had the art that I painted at your joint digitized at Bastrop Signs & Banners. Now I’ll be thinking about what we can do with it! Lol! I fell in love with the Manager, Matt Murphy, over their banners. Check ’em out local artist!

Jay Lynch is teaching this old dog new tricks. Here we go…NFT designs to the MetaVerse and Beyond!

Perspectives of Neighbor’s

I’m getting to know Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard owner Tom, a bit better. Every time I’m there he welcomes me. I’m not special, he does it for all his customers; what a nice fellow. You can tell his exceptional crew love working for him!

Nieghbor’s is a Pizza kitchen, brewery, and music venue nestled on the Colorado River in Bastrop, deep in the heart of Texas. FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED. ALWAYS WITH LOVE. I still have not completed my painting titled “Perspectives of Neighbors.”

Today, I get to speak to Kelly Clarke, Development Director, Down Home Ranch about getting the kids involved in my next community-driven, giant, hopeful art installations.

In fact, I hope to get both these great companies involved. I’ll make it easy on them: I’ll do all the work with help from other artists and citizens of this great community.

More to come! I’m just a girl with a vision…

All you need is Love

I developed this product today. I ordered one to check it’s quality. Once I approve our online team managed by Jay Lynch, will offer it to you guys.

I’m Getting exciting up in here!

It’s the “All You Need Is Love, Love” candle. Inspired by the Beatles Love Show in Las Vegas. Created for a group show hosted by Lisa Dittrich – Arts Factory 2016 – What an honor it was to be in this show with great artists like Lisa and David Fay and others.

The original art is unavailable – it’s owned by Chelsea Brophy.

I can paint another original for you similar to this one … but this one is hers.

I retain reproduction rights on all my creations.
